One of Delaware’s premier pop jazz bands the Alfie Moss/Dexter Koonce Project has a smooth style of performance that blends jazz with blues, rock, R&B, contemporary, gospel & caribbean songs. Singer Alfie Moss and keyboardist/guitarist Dexter Koonce have well-earned their recognition as “Best of Jazz Vocalist & Best of Jazz Band” by Delaware Today Magazine’s Readers Choice Awards in 1992. They’ve recently been inducted into Delaware’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, opened for Vice President Joe Biden, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Donald Byrd, Bonnie Raitt, Grover Washington Jr., Norman Conners, Jean Carne, Kim Waters, Lonnie Liston Smith, Dexter Wansel, Bobby Lyles, Pieces of a Dream and many more. Their awards include Delaware Magazine’s Reader’s Choice Awards Best of Jazz Vocalist and Best of Jazz Band, C.O.J.A. Award, by the Council on Jazz Advocate’s of Delaware.
